FAQ chatbot
Turn Your FAQ Page Into a Chatbot
Visitors rarely word a question the way your FAQ heading does. A chatbot built from that page matches the meaning, answers in a sentence, and points to a person when the page has nothing to say.
The question is never worded like the heading
Your FAQ says "Refund eligibility". The visitor types "can I get my money back if it arrived broken". A search box finds nothing; the chatbot finds the answer.
- Matches meaning, not keywords
- It reads the question as a sentence, so a synonym or a typo does not send the visitor to a dead end.
- Joins neighbouring entries
- When the answer spans two FAQ items, such as delivery time and delivery options, it can draw on both in one reply.
- Silence beats invention
- If nothing in your sources covers the question, it says so and shows your support contacts rather than making something up.
What goes in
An FAQ chatbot is only as good as the pages behind it. These four do most of the work.
Your FAQ page
Add its URL and the questions and answers become the core of what the chatbot knows. Keep it current, because the bot repeats what it says.
Policy documents
Returns, warranty, terms and privacy as PDF or Word files. They answer the follow-up questions an FAQ page leaves out.
Plan and product pages
The pages that say what each option includes. Visitors ask about them more than anything else, and the bot should quote you, not guess.
Support contacts
An email, phone number or contact page link that the chatbot shows when a question falls outside everything above.
Write the FAQ for a chatbot
Small edits to the source page make a visible difference to the answers.
One question, one answer
Entries that answer three things at once produce blurred replies. Split them, and each answer comes back sharper.
State the condition, not only the rule
A line that says which orders qualify for free delivery, and which do not, answers more questions than the rule on its own.
Delete what no longer applies
An expired promotion left on the page will be quoted as current. The chatbot cannot tell that a paragraph is out of date.
Use your customers' words
If customers say "cancel" and the page only says "terminate", add the plain word once. Matching improves for search and chat alike.
What your visitors get
Quick answers in your own words, with a person close by whenever they want one.
Answers they can trust
Every reply comes from your FAQ and documents, and the bot is upfront when something is not covered.
A person one tap away
Your support email, phone or contact page shows up whenever a visitor wants more than the FAQ.
