Add an AI Chatbot to Your Portfolio Website

Train it on your resume and project write-ups, then embed it with one snippet. Visitors ask about your work instead of guessing from three screenshots.

What to train it on

The chatbot is only as specific as what you give it. These four sources cover most portfolios.

01

Your resume

The single most useful source. It covers roles, dates, tools, and education in one file the chatbot can answer from.

02

Case studies and write-ups

A PDF per project — the problem, what you built, and the outcome. This is what turns thin answers into specific ones.

03

Your own pages

Add your portfolio's project pages as website sources so the chatbot answers from the same words a visitor is reading.

04

A talk or demo video

Add a YouTube link and the transcript becomes answerable, which covers work that is easier to show than to write up.

The launcher

Paste this before the closing body tag on any page you want the chatbot on.

html
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://cdn.cortexvia.in/chatbotsdk-web.css" />
<script src="https://cdn.cortexvia.in/chatbotsdk-web.iife.js"></script>
<div id="cv-chat"></div>
<script>
  window.ChatbotSDK.mount("#cv-chat", {
    chatbotKey: "ctx-cb-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx",
    config: {
      mode: "chatbot",
      position: "bottom-right"
    }
  });
</script>

Replace the placeholder key with the one from your Chatbots area. Everything else can stay as it is.

  • Load the two CDN files once per page, not once per widget
  • position accepts bottom-right or bottom-left
  • Add it to a shared footer partial to cover the whole site at once

Or an inline panel

For a dedicated about page, the chat can sit in the layout instead of floating over it.

html
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://cdn.cortexvia.in/chatbotsdk-web.css" />
<script src="https://cdn.cortexvia.in/chatbotsdk-web.iife.js"></script>
<div id="cv-inline-chat" style="height:72vh"></div>
<script>
  window.ChatbotSDK.mount("#cv-inline-chat", {
    chatbotKey: "ctx-cb-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx",
    config: {
      mode: "chat",
      title: "Ask about my work",
      inputPlaceholder: "Ask anything..."
    }
  });
</script>

Inline mode needs a container with a real height — the panel fills whatever box you give it.

  • mode chat renders an always-open panel
  • The container needs a height; the example uses 72vh
  • title and inputPlaceholder set the copy your visitors read

Why Cortexvia

A portfolio shows the finished thing. A chatbot answers the questions it raises.

01

It answers what your case study skipped

Visitors ask about the parts you left out — team size, how long it took, what you would change. The chatbot answers from your own write-ups.

02

It looks like your site

Launcher colour, header, assistant name, and welcome message are all configurable, so it does not arrive looking like someone else's widget.

03

It does not slow your portfolio down

The loader is deferred until after the page is interactive, so your images and animations still get the first paint.

04

Local pricing, free tier to test

Priced in your local currency, and the free tier is enough to put one on a live portfolio.

Get started

Upload your resume and one project write-up, copy the snippet, and paste it into your footer.

Start with two documents. Your resume and your best project write-up are enough to tell whether the answers are worth keeping.
